Author of The Right To Mourn, a writer, a friend, a brother, a thought... Here is a man who has dedicated his life to writing from the heart and living life passionately.
I first met Masingita when he had cornrows on his head, an earring on his right ear and pants that sat right below the designated position. He was the epitome of an upcoming hip hop king; not forgetting his over-sized sneakers. Today he has a bald head, no trace of an earring on his ear despite the evidence of previous ear piercings and a fashion sense only known to a man who has been around the block, fashion wise.

He has a blog entitled "Thoughts In Transit" on www.masingitamasiya.blogspot.com whose vision is to introduce the market to his writing and thus establish a relationship with the reader pre-, through and post- book publishing and buying. He owns a publishing company called Lefoko La Kgosi Publishing which translates to “The Word Of The King” whose motto is “Your Word Is King”.

He published his debut book, The Right To Mourn, through it. The book is a dedication to his father, who has passed away. He calls the book “a conversation”. He founded Lefoko La Kgosi, but now co-owns it with Joy Mathebula who looks into marketing and Khayalethu Ngoma who mans the graphics side of business

His keen sense for fashion led him to work with the astute stylist and designer Zanozuko Skorzch Sithetho on his image. Masingita calls Skorzch a “fabric maverick”. Skorzch dressed and styled him for his book launch that took place on the 09th of December 2012 at The National Library of South Africa in Pretoria.

He considers himself a “simple guy with a complex mentality”, which is what one can pick up on his sense of dressing.

Though he also has a sharp ear for music, for which classic music takes the cup, what he was doing with this bass guitar below beats me.

Central Baptist Youth Department Winter Camp was very interesting

Masingita is a born-again Christian who fellowships at First Winterveldt Baptist Church. He is the vice-president of the Central Gauteng Baptist Youth Department region under the Baptist Convention of South Africa.
