SKORZCH IS LIVING THE FASHION-ABLE DREAM

An Eastern Cape based young designer is ready to take over the fashion world with his own creative craft style. He says he does not like to be called a “fashion designer” but wants the words “Creative Director” to come into people’s mind every time they hear the name Skorzch. Zanozuko ’ Zano’  Sithetho calls his creation Skorzch, which is a name similar to the famous saying “Scotch” never dies. Sithetho says his brand name arises from two sayings: The checked pattern and the saying:"the sun is scorching hot". Although it is written as Skorzch, it is pronounced "S-ko-ssh".

Skorzch started in 2008 as a small t-shirt business but with the influence of the DStv’s fashion series his fashion interest expanded to stylish garment designing.
He says the aim of Skorzch is to not only to make stylish clothes but they should be wearable and easy to wash and iron.

He credits his creative juices to his father, who is a construction worker but says he looks up to a British-born fashion designer Ozwald Boateng of Ghanaian descent, who is known for his trade mark twist style on classic British tailoring.
"He is precisely on point. He makes comfortable stylish works with a twist that is not massive, but it’s simple and elegant.", he says.

Ozwald Boateng

From 2008 until May 2011 Sithetho learnt how to sharpen his sewing and branding crafting skills from Sis Thandi Mvuyelwa, who is also an Eastern Cape designer.
“I used to go over to Sis Thandi’s and watch her work. I learnt how to sew from her machine.”
He learnt about fabrics from sewing, looking at books from the library and also through the Internet.
Sithetho does not draw the designs. The customers choose what garment they want and also choose the type of fabric they want their cloths to be made of from an already prepared catalogue book. He takes measurements then after draft and cut the design pattern. The real work only begins when the clients has paid the deposit.

He says knew he had a level of creativity but wanted to apply it to his desired choice or field of work.

Skorzch is one brand to look out for as the work speaks for itself. It has a touch of timeless vintage that speaks volumes about a man who loves his artistry, his future as a creative director and his love for the lavish life.

YOU Decide

People talk and one gets to understand what they are on about, but others prefer to show it through what they wear. In this day and age clothing is one aspect that will determine how you are viewed. For instance when going for an interview you are expected to look a certain way, to talk in a certain way and speak audibly and intelligently.

How you wear your jeans says a lot: A simple jean can be made into a hot accessory with a crisp white shirt, a fitted blazer and a bow tie to give it that extra oomph. Or you can simply dress it down with a simple t-shirt and a detailed scarf. You decide whether to wear the jean as a turn-up or to leave it as it is.

First things first when you walk into a shop you decide whether you want a skinny jean, a bootleg, a slim fit or a regular fit. This is determined by the type of style you like,be it smart casual or semi-formal. You decide because at the end of the day,it is your money that is paying for these things but please be careful.

Know your body type so as to dress accordingly, for example tall, skinny girls look radiant in harem pants and curvy girls looks prim and proper in bootleg jeans when fitted right. So you choose what to wear ,how to wear it and when. After all you only live once.
